An Update on the Future of Thinking Theologically

For those who regularly follow our content, you may have noticed it’s been a while since we last posted. There is a reason for this. I (Spencer) have stepped out of full-time ministry. As of now, I don’t know whether this will be permanent or simply a God-given sabbatical. What this means is that I no longer have the time that ministry afforded me to write, record, and edit material for Thinking Theologically.

However, Jack and I have no intention of allowing this ministry to wither away and die, but we will have to make some changes to its application. For the foreseeable future, Jack and I will continue to put out content regularly, but due to scheduling issues, all the content will be done solo. Jack and I will write articles and produce videos separately, but coordinate in content, goals, and publication. This approach will be different for us, so you will likely have to bear with us as we work everything out.

This also means that, for the time being, we will no longer be able to record many of our “Conversation” episodes, in which we interview scholars in the field. I do hope to find a way to integrate conversations back into our regular publishing, but this will take time to figure out. This also means that some of our other, larger projects we teased in episodes will be put on pause.

Jack and I have faith that God will continue to use Thinking Theologically to do great work for his kingdom. I also have faith that God will lead me to the destination he has set forth, whatever that may be. We would appreciate your prayers for the future of Thinking Theologically, and I would appreciate your prayers for my family’s future as well.

Blessings and thanks to all of you!
