Background
- The primary purpose of Revelation is to be an encouragement to Christians who are being persecuted and killed for their faith.
- Revelation provides three major sources of hope for these Christians
- Christians who die for their faith will be rewarded by God. Their death was not in vain.
- God will eventually defeat evil once and for all, good will triumph, and sin and death will be no more.
- The fullness of the reward for faithful Christians and life free from the powers of sin and death are found in heaven.
